Narrow Your Niche to find content.

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

The #1 question I get asked is where can a Health or Life Coach to find ideas for subject matter in their content.

If you are having trouble finding some subject matter to create all the content your ideals are waiting for try this exercise. Get some paper and a pen and write down the answer to some of the following questions.

  1. What is your niche?

  2. Narrow it down by 3 Steps

  3. Narrow it down by 7 Steps

When you view Niche #7: Health Coaching For single Paleo women in their 30's with children & full-time jobs, without gym memberships trying to lose weight. What content subjects jump to mind? Off the top of my head I can think of the following videos and articles you could write;

  • At home workouts

  • List of Calories Burned During Housework

  • Workouts to do at your desk

  • Kid friendly Paleo Recipes

  • How to meet single Paleo Dads

  • Morning routines for before kids wake up

  • Evening routines for after kids go to bed

I just thought of these off the top of my head while having little to no education on this niche at all. This exercise demonstrates how easily narrowing your niche can make finding content matter for your articles and videos.

When you know your clients problems you can solve them. However, the only way to be the solution is to know who your ideal clients are!

Some other things to ask yourself to find potential content

What problems can you solve with in this niche?

What are other coaches in this niche talking about?

What studies or posts have come out regarding your specific subjects?

Where to do content mining

Google, Reddit, Social Media, Newspapers, Magazines, Competitors and...

Your Aunt Karen. WHAT???

That's right, do you have any family members or friends that might be your ideal client? Listen to what they talk about, what are their concerns, problem and issues? These folks questions and concerns might be exactly what your clients are wondering.

Journal

What are your ideal clients passions, skills, and positive attributes? How can they use these skills to solve their problems. How does this relate to you and your coaching? These questions and the answers are topics for content in themselves.

Content is everywhere. Just be aware to your niches, know your client, know what problem you are the solution to it, and talk about it.
